UFU deputy president John McLenaghan attended the NIE Networks ‘Big rebuild campaign’ panel discussion last week (11 September), where £250 million investment plans were discussed in revitalising the electricity network.
During the panel discussion, Mr McLenaghan highlighted both the opportunities and challenges for farmers across Northern Ireland and emphasised the importance of good communication and respect for landowners.
The NIE rebuild campaign includes replacing poles, conductors, transformers and restringing overhead lines to ensure a more reliable and resilient network with quicker access and more capacity for current and future customers.
