Peatland farmer outreach events

The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) in partnership with Ulster Wildlife are hosting local outreach events to provide an overview of current peatland projects. Using local examples, the informal events will give information on the benefits peatland management can provide, and how practitioners go about it. Tea and coffee will be provided and there will be opportunity for discussion afterwards. Feedback will also be welcomed to gain unique perspectives of upland farming communities to help inform policymakers in the future.

All farmers who manage peatlands are welcome to attend.

Upcoming events include:

  • The Glens of Antrim; Monday 25 November, 7pm at The Old Mill, 70 Main St, Cloughmills, BT44 9LF.
  • The Sperrins; Thursday 5 December, 7pm at the Workplace Centre, 5 Tobermore Rd, Draperstown, BT45 7AG.
