UFU MPI: 43.05ppl (42.08ppl): Dairy commodity prices continue to rise. Last two weeks Dutch markets saw WMP up €100/tonne to €4600 and SMP (food grade) up €120/tonne to €3690. In the last seven weeks, WMP up eight percent and SMP up seven percent. GDT in New Zealand all product index this week rose by dour-point-two percent to $4840, up 14% since 7 January and this is on the back of significant gains in the previous 12 months.

UFU MPI: 42.08ppl (was 41.13ppl) – Majority of global dairy commodity prices continue to rise. GDT Index in New Zealand up four-point-one percent to $4,630, its highest level since March 2014. WMP up five-point-eight percent to $4,324/tonne and cheddar up two-point-four percent to $5,684/tonne. Dutch Dairy Board/ZuiVelNL saw WMP up €160/tonne in last fortnight to a record €4500/tonne. Only butter bucked the trend and weakened slightly to €5950/tonne.

UFU MPI: 41.13ppl (was 39.70ppl) – Three milestones were reached this week. Firstly, Global Dairy Trade (GDT) in New Zealand marked its 300th Trading Event with its all product index rising four-point-six percent to $4,463, the largest increase since 2 March 2021. Secondly, ZuivelNL (Dutch Dairy Board) this week saw all dairy commodity prices increase with SMP (food grade) up €120/tonne to €3580/tonne and WMP up €70 to €4340/tonne, so aside from butter, Dutch dairy commodity prices now at the highest since records began. Finally, and most significantly of all, the UFU MPI has tipped the 40p per litre mark for the first time in its history.

UFU MPI: 39.70ppl (was 39.84ppl): GDT in New Zealand up nought-point-three percent, with cheddar up four-point-nine percent to $5487/tonne. Dutch prices (ZuiveNL) saw butter rise €50 to €6120/tonne, Skimmed milk powder (feed grade) up €20 to €3380/tonne and whey powder hitting a new high of €1220/tonne, up €30 in last two weeks. MPI tempered by sterling hitting highest level against the euro since February 2020 and also gaining ground against the US dollar.
