UFU welcomes Brunt to membership team

Rebecca Brunt began the role of membership development officer in June

Rebecca has a robust agricultural background, having been raised on a suckler, sheep and dairy farm in Northern Ireland. Her drive for farming has propelled her across the UK, where she has gained invaluable hands-on experience as a shepherdess, mastering a variety of farming systems and methods.

Since the age of twelve, Rebecca has been a dynamic member of the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster, taking on numerous leadership roles at both club and county committee levels. She has also proudly represented the organisation on international platforms, effectively championing the critical role of youth in agriculture.

With eight years of veterinary experience, Rebecca possesses a profound understanding of animal health and welfare issues, along with a keen awareness of the daily challenges faced by farmers. This experience has solidified her unwavering commitment to supporting the agricultural community.

As membership development officer for the Ulster Farmers’ Union, Rebecca is determined to inspire the next generation of young people in agriculture. She is dedicated to empowering both current and new members, driving growth and strengthening the organisation’s membership to ensure that young voices are recognised and valued within our rural communities.
