UFU secures final signup opportunity for Soil Nutrient Health Scheme

The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) is urging farmers to take immediate action following the announcement of a final opportunity to register for the Soil Nutrient Health Scheme (SNHS), a key requirement for access to Farm Sustainability Payments, making participation essential for farm businesses across Northern Ireland.

The UFU said it had raised concerns on behalf of members who were unable to register in previous rounds and welcomes the decision to provide a final opportunity.

UFU Deputy President Glenn Cuddy said, “The UFU has consistently highlighted the need for flexibility for those farmers who, for various reasons, were unable to register in earlier phases of the scheme. We welcome this final opportunity and would strongly encourage any members who have not yet signed up to do so immediately. Participation in the SNHS is a condition of Farm Sustainability Payments, so it is vital that farmers act now to ensure they remain eligible.”
The Union stressed that this is expected to be the last opportunity to register and warned that failure to do so could have significant implications for future support payments.

The UFU is encouraging all members to check their registration status and complete the process without delay and would like to remind farmers that they are also required to Complete SNHS training as a condition of FSP and encourages members to ensure this is completed either online or in person as soon as possible.
