UFU raise over £23K for Marie Curie in two years

The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) is delighted to announce that from the beginning of UFU president David Brown’s presidential term to date, membership has raised over £23k for Maire Curie. Marie Curie is Mr Brown’s chosen charity for his time as president and this relationship encouraged additional donations amounting to approximately £15,000 – £16,000.

Mr Brown said, “I am deeply humbled and so grateful to our UFU members and everyone in the farming community who helped us to raise such a significant amount of money for Marie Curie. We have been told that the £23k which was directly related to UFU activity, will support 1,005 hours of nursing care. Thank you to every farm family who gave what they could to Marie Curie during my time as president, your donation will make a huge difference to their patients and families. The monies raised is a true testament to the good will of our farming community.”

Conor O’Kane, senior partnership manager at Marie Curie said, “I would like to echo David’s words of thanks to both UFU members and to the wider farming communities that supported Marie Curie. Your support of the president’s charity will ensure end of life care, whatever the illness, for people across Northern Ireland.”
