A UFU delegation, led by President John McLenaghan and Deputy President Clement Lynch, alongside members of the UFU policy team, met with the Tesco Northern Ireland team at its Newtownabbey Superstore.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges currently facing Northern Ireland agriculture, including wider policy pressures as well as issues affecting individual farming sectors.
Tesco outlined its commitment to supporting local food and agriculture and sees real opportunities to continue building its relationships with the Northern Ireland agri-food sector.
Both UFU and Tesco agreed on the importance of working more closely together and maintaining an open dialogue on the issues and opportunities facing local farmers and the wider food industry.
