The Ulster Farmers’ Union is delighted to announce that the Women in Agriculture Innovation Day will be taking place on Thursday, 17 October, at AFBI Hillsborough.
This event is thoughtfully scheduled to coincide with International Day of Rural Women, celebrated on 15 October. It recognises the vital role of women in rural communities and agriculture, making it the perfect backdrop for UFU’s day of innovation and empowerment.
Join the UFU for an exciting and hands-on day dedicated to celebrating and supporting women in agriculture. With practical sessions held on the AFBI farm, the event is designed to be relevant to all sectors, offering a unique opportunity to share insights, network, and explore innovative ideas shaping the future of agriculture.

The event will begin in AFBI Conference Hall, those in attendance will hear from a few speakers focusing on the science of farming, the importance of meat and milk in human nutrition and the importance of our soils. This will be followed by a light lunch on site.
The afternoon will have a practical format, and the topics will be discussed on farm using the AFBI transporters. Topics to be covered include slurry/nutrient management, resilient grasslands, dairy youngstock and emissions – methane and ammonia.
