Policy officer – Dairy and rural affairs

The Ulster Farmers Union is seeking to recruit a Policy Officer based out of our Head Office in Belfast. This will be a challenging and wide ranging job working as part of the UFU Policy Team, the successful candidate will be covering dairy and rural affairs.

Reporting to: Policy, Technical and Communications Manager

The job involves assisting with;
  • The development of Union Policy
  • The servicing of Union Central Committees
  • Representing the views of the Union across a range of media
  • The lobbying process
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience;
  • Have a third level qualification in a relevant subject
  • Have a good knowledge of or interest in Northern Ireland Agriculture
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be computer literate
  • Be willing to work hard, be ambitious and a good team member
  • Hold a driving licence
Salary

The Salary scale for this full time permanent position is £36,060 – £42,425.
