The Richhill Apple Harvest Fayre will take place today (October 31) in Richhill Village Sqaure. Now running for the second consecutive year the fayre is a celebration of the locally cherished Armagh Bramley apple.
Visitors from across the province will be welcomed to Richhill Village Square to view cookery demonstrations, take part in apple peeling and sample different apple varieties. The fayre was a huge success last year with the organisers looking forward to another highly attended event. With a variety of events taking place in the Village Square, from food markets to tug-o-war, children’s activities and an opportunity to see animals which have featured in Game of Thrones, the Richhill Apple Harvest Fayre is a great opportunity to have fun with the family and enjoy Halloween a little differently.
UFU Fruit Chairman Hamilton Loney said: “In their desire to know more about local food the Northern Ireland public show great enthusiasm for food festivals. Consumers are keen to know where their food comes from and the Richhill Apple Harvest Fayre is a great opportunity for members of the public to meet growers and gain an understanding of how the Armagh Bramley apple makes its journey from the orchard to the supermarket shelf.”
The organisers would like to encourage everyone to come along and enjoy a free, fun-filled day of activities for all the family to enjoy. The fayre will run from 11am to 4pm with free admission and dedicated parking areas clearly signposted.
