The UFU has been meeting routinely with NIEA senior staff, including former CEO Terry A'Hearn, over the past number of months to discuss how NIEA operate and highlight ongoing issues on the ground. Overall, meetings have been positive and the UFU have provided NIEA with several key recommendations, which we believe if acted upon would improve the current situation for local farmers without having a detrimental impact on the environment. Discussions are on-going but NIEA has been receptive to our suggestions and has given us assurances that they are committed to improving relationships between NIEA and farmers.
