Farm Watch Launch

FARMERS across the Strabane & District area are invited to attend the launch of the ‘Farm Watch Scheme’ in partnership with the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Strabane Policing and Community Safety Partnership and the North Tyrone Ulster Farmers Union.
The aim of Farm Watch is to promote the importance of being vigilant and the need for improved communication – both within rural and farming communities and between rural communities and the Police Service.

Rural crime has been an issue for police and the rural community for some time now and we understand the cost both in terms of money and time this has for busy farmers. This event is just part of a series of measures police have undertaken in partnership with others to combat rural crime and reassure the public.

The services offered by the ‘Farm Watch Scheme’ includes roadside /property signage to advertise the scheme is in place, provision of a unique reference number for marking trailers and other farm machinery and a text alert service from police to keep you up to date about relevant criminal or suspicious activity in your area.

Presentations and exhibitors at the launch will include CESAR, Tracker, Roads Policing and North West Locks to name but a few.
