Beyond the Farm Gate returns – UFU farm tour series

Autumn evenings are not ideal for on farm tours due to fewer daylight hours. However, the Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) virtual farm tour series is perfectly suited to the longer nights and Beyond the Farm Gate is making a comeback on 12 October, as a Countryside COP special.

Featuring recently elected deputy president John McLenaghan, UFU members will get a tour of his farm located close to Garvagh. The farm business showcases the very best of farming innovation with a wind turbine and AD plant amongst other projects to benefit the environment. This is a farm tour with a difference that you won’t want to miss.

The UFU’s farm tour series is a member only event and you must register prior to the date to receive the link to view the tour online. All tours have been filmed during the day and there will be an opportunity to ask questions live after each tour.

In advance of COP 27, the UFU and others are again supporting Countryside COP which is happening from 10 – 14 October, to allow the rural community to come together and showcase the opportunities available and the contribution already being made to reach net zero. A range of events will be taking place with key themes for each day.
