Northern Ireland Women in Agri-Leadership Programme
The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU), in partnership with DAERA and the Women in Agriculture Taskforce, is inviting applications for the new Women in Agri-Leadership Programme.
This practical and supportive 8-week programme is designed to help women across the agriculture and agri-food industry build confidence, strengthen communication and leadership skills, and connect with other women across the industry.
The programme follows the successful 2024 pilot, where:

- Participants developed strong peer support networks that continued beyond the training
What the programme will cover:
- Confidence and leadership development
- Communication and influencing skills
- Negotiation and decision-making
- Managing difficult conversations and conflict
- Understanding gender bias in agriculture
- Resilience, wellbeing and self-care
- Peer learning and support
Programme Format
- 8 weeks
- Weekly evening sessions (2 – 2.5 hours)
- Combination of in-person and online delivery
- Four regional cohorts across Northern Ireland (Antrim, Cookstown, Enniskillen, Down/Armagh)
- 15-20 women per cohort
This is a subsidised programme supported by DAERA. A participant contribution towards programme costs will apply.
