Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) and Water Catchment Partnership (WCP) representatives attended Fermanagh County Show on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 August. The WCP encourage using pesticides that pose least risk to human health and the environment. Integrated pest management (IPM) has many benefits including:
- Maintaining biodiversity, decreasing pollution and lowering the build-up of pesticide resistance.
- Can play a significant role in making farming more environmentally, economically and socially sustainable.
- Using IPM will help to demonstrate adherence to the Code of Practice for using Plant Protection Products.
