UFU respond to The Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (NI) 2017

The Ulster Farmers' Union has submitted its response broadly supporting the proposals on the draft Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017 but raised that the Planning Service must define what a ‘qualified and competent’ expert is.  The UFU also noted that the Planning Service should accept similar environmental assessments such as IPPC and ask for additional info where needed and the  UFU questioned if the competent authorities were using accurate and appropriate models to make relevant assessments. The UFU has also asked for publication of specific guidance for applicants going forward.
