The GDT auction in New Zealand rose for the fifth event in a row this week, with the all product index up by 3.2% with average winning price of $3,313, up from $3,166. Fats saw the biggest gains with butter up by 11.2%, whilst powders saw more moderate gains. Whole Milk Powder increased for the 5th consecutive GDT event, moving up by 1.3%, with an average winning price of $3,312/tonne (up from $3,233). This is the first time the WMP index has posted five consecutive positive events since March 2015. For the third week running all DDB/ZuivelNL’s dairy commodity prices increased. Butter increased by €120 to €4,720/tonne; WMP up €50 to €2,830/tonne, SMP (food) is up €40/tonne and whey powder up €40 to €950/tonne.
