UFU meeting with Shadow NI Secretary of State

The Ulster Farmers’ Union (UFU) met with Shadow NI Secretary of State Peter Kyle MP, at Montgomery’s dairy farm, located outside Eglinton.

Topics of discussion included the fast-approaching end of grace periods for vet medicines and the need for an extension amongst other Northern Ireland Protocol concerns such as importing seeds, plant protection products and seed potatoes. The need to protect cross border trade was also discussed in length as was protecting agriculture and rural needs in UK-world trade deals.
