Moy Park on board as principal sponsor for UFU hosted international policy congress

The Ulster Farmers’ Union has announced that Moy Park will be the principal sponsor for the forthcoming North American European Union Agricultural Policy Congress which will be coming to Northern Ireland in October 2015.

Speaking at an event to announce the sponsorship support, UFU President, Ian Marshall said: “We are delighted to have secured the considerable support of Moy Park for the forthcoming North American European Union Agricultural Policy Congress which will be held in Northern Ireland  in October. We are very pleased to have secured such a prestigious event and to have the support of a Northern Ireland based global brand such as Moy Park as sponsor, will ensure that together we can present the best face for Northern Ireland agriculture to leading policy makers from Europe and North America.”

Mike Mullan from Moy Park added: “With the production of food becoming increasingly more global in nature, we at Moy Park are pleased to be associated with such a high profile international event, and to have it happening in our own back yard gives us a tremendous opportunity to showcase just how vital, innovative and export orientated the agri-food sector in Northern Ireland really is.”

Speaking during a visit to Northern Ireland, Pekka Pesonnen, Secretary General of COPA COGECA, the umbrella body for European farming organisations, commented: “The UFU have approached the organisation of this Congress very professionally and already we have had considerable interest expressed from different parts of Europe as well as from our colleagues in the US, Canada and Mexico, all of whom are really looking forward to visiting Northern Ireland and seeing the agricultural and agri food industries at first hand.”
