Lobbying at an EU level

Updated 29/02/16

Many policy decisions that affect Northern Ireland's farmers are made at a EU level. The UFU continues to forge strong links with policy makers in Brussels and has a dedicated presence in Brussels in the form of the BAB (British Agriculture Bureau) office. We also work closely with Northern Ireland's MEPs on a range of issues.

The UFU is also a member of Copa-Cogeca, an organisation made up from farming unions across the EU which lobbies and speaks on behalf of the European agriculture sector as a whole. In 2014, former UFU president Harry Sinclair was elected a Vice President of Copa.
