A change is as good as a rest
David has been fortunate to have almost half his herd out night and day, with the other half still indoors full time. The weather has become an important factor in David’s life as the current cold, wet weather highlights just how dramatically it impacts our system and how we farm.
Spring has sprung
With spring in the air and mornings much brighter, getting out of bed for early starts is definitely getting easier. It certainly adds a spring to your step when you see that sun rising when you get up to start the day. Unfortunately the boys sleeping patterns are totally out of kilter, it's like a tag team during the night, one up, one down all night long. With the hour change and some black out blinds we're hoping they'll settle down, fingers crossed.
Settling in
Following Christmas, January just seemed to pass in a blur. I think it must have been the fact that routine had gone out the window during the holiday period and just when you felt normality returning you find yourself at the end of the month. I must be having fun because time flies in farming that's for sure. I also overheard another farmer mention how quick January passed so thankfully it wasn't just me who was day dreaming.
Moving Home to Farm
